A CENTURY OF BEING HERE

Since our founding, we’ve seen a lot of history get made.

Here’s a few of the most important events from along the way.

1913

The Fort Garry Hotel opens, still a downtown landmark today.

1927

The Manitoba Hotel Association begins bringing the province's hotels together.

1940

Manitoba's hoteliers rally behind the war effort, even helping fund a fighter plane.

1997

Fifty-seven Manitoba hotels raise more than $26,000 for Flood of the Century relief.

2020

The MHA mobilizes about 60 hotels to make rooms available for Manitoba's health-care response.

2025

During a record wildfire season, Manitoba hotels help shelter thousands forced from their homes.

2027

The MHA marks 100 years of being the trusted voice for Manitoba’s hotel industry.

The Manitoba Hotel Association has advocated for the province's hotels since 1927, because Manitoba communities and their hotels grow strongest together. Today we represent 260 member hotels, 93 in Winnipeg and 167 across rural Manitoba.
